****03/12/19: PROGRAM HAS RENTAL ASSISTANCE AT THIS TIME, AND FUNDS TO HELP WITH PAST DUE UTILITIES WHERE THE PERSON CURRENTLY LIVES (Qualifying persons may receive one, but not both)
*Services are for residents of the following counties: Leon, Gadsden, Madison, Jefferson and Taylor
*AS FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE: emergency rental assistance or emergency utility assistance require that rent or utilities be past due; assistance with deposits or first month's rent not available
*Assistance limited to either rent or utilities (not both) one time every 12 months per household
*To get rent or utility assistance, the client must currently have enough income to cover routine monthly expenses; programs such as SSI disability, child support, TANF, Worker's Compensation, Unemployment Benefits or any regular income from a verifiable source. In some cases Food Stamps are taken into consideration.
*Interested persons must call main number in Tallahassee and state what county they are calling from; phone requests for any financial help through the emergency assistance program are taken 9am-10am, Mondays ONLY; new funding allocated every Monday, so persons who do not reach a case worker may try again the following week
*Food pantry provided on a walk-in basis, 2:30pm-3:30pm, M-Th; food may be requested once every four months; picture ID required; food is a small grocery bag of non-perishables; no meat or produce provided; clients may receive 1 dozen diapers and wipes once a month
*Clothes closet available on a walk-in basis, 8:30am-Noon, 1pm-4pm, M-Th, no ID required; 5 items per family member, sign in required
